Football Experience
|
| Played football at Courtland High School 1980-1984 where the cougars won state championships in 82' and 83' under Virginia Hall of Fame coach, Ken Brown. During my years at Courtland the desire to win was fueled by the success of our teams and the lessons learned then and there remain with me to this day. I was able to continue playing football at the next level while attending Hampden-Sydney College.
I began coaching as an assistant coach in 2002 for Spostyvania Parks and Rec and later became a head coach within the league at the Pee Wee and Junior divisions from 2005 through 2008. During those years our teams earned a 28-4 win/loss record. I believe firmly in the KISS method, which simply means to keep things as simple as possible so that the kids can perform quickly and aggressively without a paralysis of analysis. I believe in a strong work ethic and a comitment to playing for the benefit of the team.
I began coaching to spend more time with my sons and the benefits have been more than I could have dreamed. I have had the privilege of working with friends and some terrific kids. I can hardly wait to get started with this season. |
