Any player that exceeds the maximum weight limit, can still participate as a lineman eligible player. LE players are restricted to playing on the offensive or defensive line. LE players can recover the ball, but cannot advance it. LE players are identified by wearing jersey specific numbers: 50-79, 90-99 or 00. LE players are also identified by having a orange "X" on the rear of their helmet. LE players cannot participate on the kickoff team, and cannot participate on the return team. LE players are allowed to kick extra points, but are not allowed to punt the ball. If a team elects to punt, all LE players must come off the field. |
